Aaron Rodgers Fiasco Aside, The Packers Maintain Their Ground In NFC North

Outside of the Quarterback position in Green Bay, things are looking very solid in Green Bay, Wisconsin when it comes to the roster of the Green Bay Packers.

On the offensive side of the ball, All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari will be coming back from his postseason injury, while fellow All-Pro WR Davante Adams hopes to have his first full season after missing multiple games the past several seasons due to injury.

Whoever QB1 turns out to be will have one of the NFL’s premier offensive lines, as Bakhtiari will be joined by Pro Bowl G Elgton Jenkins, rookie C Josh Myers, and G Billy Turner. As one of the more versatile lines in the league, they often shift players around due to injury and quality, something that has worked for them under the coaching of Matt LaFleur and Adam Stenavich.

On the defensive side, things are quietly coming together. They are led by second-team All-Pro teammates in OLB Za’Darius Smith and CB Jaire Alexander, the latter of which is coming off of a career year where he finished with a 90.7 defensive rating, top among 121 qualified corners. DT Kenny Clark and OLB Preston Smith are all expected to bounce back and make significant contributions in first-year defensive coordinator Joe Barry’s system. Alongside the corners, the underrated safety duo of Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage Jr. look to pick up the heat they finished with late last season.

As the offseason moves on, it will be more apparent whether the reigning NFC North champions will have the depth of last season. One thing is evident: the leadership that is in place for the club to march on, even without their three-time MVP quarterback.
