Suns sweep Nuggets, Advance to WCF

The Suns eliminated the Nuggets after a game 4 victory in Denver, 125-118.

Coming off an impressive opening round against the Lakers, Phoenix inched their way in as a serious championship contender.

It was still unknown how they would perform against the Nuggets, who were a much deeper team than L.A., led by MVP Nikola Jokic.

While they did not completely shut down the big man from Serbia, the Suns were able to take control of nearly every aspect of this series.

After being overlooked throughout most of the season, Phoenix has now grabbed the attention of everyone around the league.

Leading the way for Monty Williams’s team in game 4 was the dominate backcourt of Chris Paul and Devin Booker.

Paul had a season high 37 points, along with 7 assists, while Booker was right behind him with 34 points and 11 rebounds.

The Suns had two additional double figure scorers, and much help from the bench.

Forward Mikal Bridges finished with 14 points, and center Deandre Ayton totaled 12 points.

Role players like Jae Crowder, Cameron Payne, and Cameron Johnson added a few baskets to help Phoenix complete the sweep.

Although Denver had nearly four players who scored 20 or more points in game 4, they never seemed to have an answer on the defensive side of the ball.

While they were already without Jamal Murray, Denver’s problems continued as Jokic was ejected in third quarter, signaling an end to their season.

The Suns will now make their first appearance in the western conference finals since 2010, as they await the winner of the Jazz and Clippers.
