NFC East 2021-2022 Preview

NFC East
via NFL Analysis Network

I really don’t have words for what happened in the NFC East last season. Carson Wentz looked like a shell of himself and quite frankly was horrible. Dak went down and the Cowboys never truly recovered. The Giants were the Giants I guess and didn’t do much. They were pretty much middle of the pack and their best game I think was when they upset the Hawks. This season, Dak is back, Fitzmagic is joining the show, and Jalen Hurts gets the keys to the organization. How are they all going to stack up when it’s all said and done? Let’s take a look.

New York Giants

In a very mediocre year for the Giants, they saw themselves finish with a record of 6-10, taking second in the division. They still have Daniel Jones, and if I’m being honest, he needs to have an amazing year and make the playoffs or I think his time in the pros might be close to over. The team added CB Adoree Jackson, DT Danny Shelton, TE Kyle Rudolph, WR Kelvin Benjiman, as well as WR Kenny Golladay and WR John Ross to help bolster their recieving core. I think that the team has some potential to win the East, especially with Barkley back, but it will really be decided on how Fitzpatrick does as well as what Cowboys team we see this season. I see them taking a step back due to Daniel Jones ceiling and finishing 3rd in the division with a 5-12 record.

Washington Football Team

The team with no name coming off their first place finish with an absolutely amazing 7-9 record (eye-roll), The Alex Smith era has come to an end. This does not mean that the Fitzmagic era won’t do anything positive. The team added WR Curtis Samuel to pair him with Terry McClaurin. Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic will continue to be great and that stout defense will continue to overwhelm teams, especially at the line. I think that the team with no name will repeat as division champs for the first time since the 1983-1984 seasons with a record of 9-8. I do however predict another first round exit but hey, hosting two playoff games in two years is cool, right?

Philadelphia Eagles

With Carson Wentz gone and Doug Pederson in the rear view mirror, it is time to start looking at the future of the team. That is Jalen Hurts. How will he handle the first full season? Will 10th overall pick and 2020 Heisman winner Devonta Smith help make things easier for him in the air? Will the defense be able to stop anything now after signing DE Ryan Kerrigan? I really think there is a base foundation there for building off of, but it is very small and has to be built correctly. This season I see a last place finish with a 2-15 record. Don’t hate me Eagles fans, I just don’t see all the workings of a winning team with their schedule.

Dallas Cowboys

Something always has to happen, right? Dak going down really threw you guys off your rocker. Regardless, You guys are STACKED this season and really should be the sole leader of this division when it is all said and done. I have faith in the curse of the Cowboys doing something to keep you guys from reaching your full potential. as Stephen A. Smith says ” What can go wrong, will go wrong.” I know you guys love that man. While I don’t think you guys will be able to secure the division title, I think you will finish second with a record of 6-11. Something is going to go wrong. Something always goes wrong.
