Is it time for Deshaun Watson and the Texans to move on?

Is it time for Deshaun Watson and the Texans to move on? The Deshaun Watson saga the last couple of months has been nothing short of a mess for Watson and the Texans. As all of them off the field drama Deshaun, as pulled in the last couple of months. Has put the Texans in a bind to whether to keep Watson or trade him. Likewise, we all know what Deshaun can do on the football field. As he threw for 33 touchdowns with only 7 Interceptions and also threw for 4,823 yards last season.

Ahead of the 2020 campaign, he inked a four-year $177.5 million dollar contract, as that will be another issue for trade for Watson, as the Texans would only lose $5.6 Million in cap space and to me for a terrible football team that’s not that much. But if you want my personal option on the whole situation I think the Texans should trade Deshaun get some good draft picks for him and move on from the whole situation, as I know it would basically be counting this season as a wash if they trade Deshaun, but they could Draft Spencer Rattler from Oklahoma or Sam Howell form North Carolina.

The Trade Offer: – Is it time for Deshaun Watson and the Texans to move on

On February 23, 2021, this was a trade offer sent from Carolina to the Texans that the Texans efficiently declined.

Hou: Teddy Bridgewater

Carolinas 2021 First and Second round picks

Carolinas 2023 First-round pick

Car: Deshaun Watson

Hou 2022 Third-round pick

Hou 2023 Fourth-round pick

To me this was a trade the Texans should have took as two first-round picks for Watson would have been a great way to rebuild.

But as of an hour ago, Deshaun Watson has reported to training camp to add a new twist to the saga. The eagles are the front runners to land Watson with the Dolphins and Pats in the mix. But only time will tell what will happen do the Texans trade or keep him as things get more interesting every day we shall see?
