Linus Ullmark is on the move. In a surprising twist, the Buffalo Sabres and Linus Ullmark could not come to terms on an extension. Instead, the goaltender is heading to the Boston Bruins. Ullmark comes to Boston on a four year deal worth $20 million. This comes as the B’s parted ways with Jaroslav Halak and the future of Tuukka Rask is up in the air. Halak signed a one year deal with the Vancouver Canucks worth $3 million. Meanwhile, Vladar will have to wait for his next opportunity which could some soon with the Flames.
Ullmark will work as a tandem with Jeremy Swayman. For those who haven’t heard yet, the Bruins traded goalie Dan Vladar to the Calgary Flames for a 2022 third round pick. Vladar is young like Swayman and played well, but the emergence of Swayman and Ullmark hitting the open market made him expendable. Vladar’s last game with the Bruins was 8-1 loss to the Washington Capitals, and after that he spent the rest of the season in Providence developing. Ullmark will take the pressure of Swayman and help him along the way. More to come when available.
