With the 2021-2022 English Premier League Season just around the corner, many fans world-wide are gearing up to what should be a very competitive and intriguing season. The premier league every year leaves fans with joy and disappointment. Joy for the the teams that stay above the relegation zone. Disappointment for the teams that could not survive the rough turbulence the premier league has to offer. With new signings and deals happening over the summer, let’s take a look at some of the teams to keep an eye out for this season.

The New Boys

Starting with the newly promoted teams, we welcome Watford, Norwich City & Brentford. Watford and Norwich City will be two teams that are familiar with the grit the premier league has to offer, taking only a year’s absence from the league in the second tier division. They both make their return and will be relaying on past experiences to avoid relegation. This year we get our first look at a brand team in Brentford. Brentford beat Swansea City 2-0 in the championship play-off final this past May to secure their trip to top flight football. While avoiding relegation will be difficult, this team may surprise a few and compete for a mid-table position.

Middle table hopefuls

Mid-table teams always find themselves content with surviving for another season, but wondering what they need to do to become a premier league elite and win trophies. Questions will be ask for regular mid table teams like Everton, Southhampton, Aston Villa & Wolves. Can they make some noise and compete for a top table spot? Or will it be back to the drawing board? Tottenham & Arsenal who both had dismal seasons last year will look to return to the upper portion of the table. Tottenham’s star man Harry Kane returns to lead the line, while Arsenal strengthens it’s backline with new signing Ben White. A place out of the top four for either one of these teams will be considered a failure.

English Premier League Top Four

Finally, we shift our attention to the premier league elites. All of last year’s top four teams made huge signings to boost their chances to win it all. Liverpool bolsters it’s defense with new signing Ibrahima Konate for a fee around £36m. He will partner with their star center back Virgil van Dijk in what hopes to be a rock solid defense. European champions Chelsea add to their attack with new signing Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian born striker brings years of premier league experience, having previously played for teams like Everton & Manchester United. Looking at last season’s top two finishers, it is shaping up to be another Manchester rivalry race for the crown. Second place finisher Manchester United add former Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho to it’s ranks. The midfielder will partner with star players like Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes to challenge for top glory. Lastly, Manchester City add a big signing in Jack Grealish to secure his services. He joins the premier league champions on a whopping £100m transfer from Aston Villa. Joining an already stacked midfield, the pressure will certainly be on him and Manchester City to repeat as champions.

Conclusion

The English Premier League rarely disappoints, and this season should not be an exception. Get ready to watch some of the world’s best and brightest football stars go toe to toe for the ultimate crown!
