Nick Saban is one of the most decorated college football coaches in history. With seven championships at the collegiate level, and six of those coming in the last eleven years.
The Oregon Ducks and Alabama Crimson Tide have never played against each other, but Nick Saban had some words to say about the Ducks and their uniform combinations. Throwing shade at the University of Oregon Football Program.
The shade came against a video that the Ducks released on August 2nd. Although they normally have more than three Uniform Combos, the Ducks released just 3 ahead of their practices in a Twitter video. The latest edition has some minor changes from uniforms of seasons’ past: the wings on the helmet look slightly different, the signature “O” has been moved to the bottom center of the jersey’s collar, the Fighting Duck logo was placed on the back of the jersey’s collar and the Nike logo was added to the left side of the uniform’s front.
In response to the Ducks Uniforms, video here is what Saban said:
“We have two [uniforms],” Saban said in response to Oregon. “Red jerseys at home. White jerseys away. Our main concern around here is who is wearing them.”
How Many Uniforms Does Each Team Have?
The Ducks are privileged to have more Uniforms than any other team in the Nation, because they have a better football team than Oregon State, and the founder of Nike, Phil Knight attended both schools.
Over the years, The Oregon Ducks have had had a total of 80 different uniform combinations. While Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide only have two uniforms with no alternate.
However, Nick Saban should not be worried about the Ducks’ uniform combinations… He needs to focus on this next season and the competition in the SEC and potentially in the College Football Playoff because there is a chance he plays against a powerhouse Oregon team. An Oregon team that is led by Saban’s former Assistant Head Coach Mario Cristobal.
