This game could more than likely be the preview of the College Football Playoffs. Clemson being ranked 3rd and Georgia being ranked 5th. Georgia and Clemson have played 64 total games and Georgia leads the series 42 to 18. Many big changes were done on both teams, and some could be good, and some could be bad. Does Georgia have a chance to beat Clemson?

Clemson Tigers

Clemson lost Trevor Lawrence, which is a huge hit to the offense. They do have a new starting quarterback that has shown to everyone that he is just as good. The new starting quarterback is D.J. Uiagalelei, who played a couple of great games in the absence of Trevor Lawrence. Uiagalelei played against Boston College and Notre Dame. Against Boston College, he threw for 342 passing and 2 touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown. Against Notre Dame, he had 439 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown.

Clemson’s defense will have to step up this game. Last year their defense let up almost 330 total yards last season. However, they have many returning players on defense which is a good thing especially for their first game being against Georgia. The defense needs to be able to stop the Georgia run but hopefully they can also be able to stop the offense.

Georgia Bulldogs

JT Daniels is going to be hard for Clemson to stop. In only 4 games last season, he threw for 1,231 yards and had 10 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. In his first start in 2020, he threw for 401 yards and had 4 touchdowns. Daniels had a great 2020 season even with only playing 4 games. Georgia must keep their offense going and not start off slow and continue pushing the whole game.

Georgia’s defense needs to pick it up this season. They are playing a team that could put up a lot of points super-fast. The biggest thing going for Georgia’s defense is that they have many experienced players and not many young players. Their defensive line to coming back and is going to be able stop the run but it might be different during the pass plays.

This game will be a big win for either of the teams. The team that loses will have to not lose another game this season, otherwise they will not be in the talk for College Football Playoffs. This game will be the game of the weekend and show who will be the best team this season. Many changes for both teams with players that we do not know how great they are.
