Stanford vs #14 USC is this Saturday at 9:30 pm CT and it is the first time back playing the rivalry since 2019. This rivalry has been going on since 1905 and USC leads the all-time series 62-33. Will USC continue their win streak against Stanford? Or will Stanford come out and dominate the game?

USC Trojans

USC had a great game during week 1 even though it was against San Jose State. They won that game 30 to 7 and their offense had a very convincing game. They had 416 total yards and Kedon Slovis had 256 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Drake London had an amazing game and had 137 receiving yards. The biggest thing for the offense is the 2 fumbles that they lost. Their defense did not play that great and let up 376 total yards but held San Jose State to only 68 rushing yards. They also had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.

USC played great this game, but they did not start great. They need to be able to push the gas pedal the whole game. Their offense needs to continue what they were doing, and the defense also needs to. The defense needs to work on pass defense and not giving up so many yards. On the other hand, their rushing defense needs to dominate this game.

Stanford Cardinal

Stanford had a horrible start this season. They played Kansas State and lost 24 to 7 and their offense did not have a good game. Stanford’s offense only had 194 passing yards and a measly 39 rushing yards. The two quarterbacks, Jack West and Tanner McKee combined for 1 touchdown and West had 2 interceptions. Their defense let up 344 total yards and on top of that they let up 200 rushing yards. The defense did have 1 interception, but that was the only good thing that they did.

Stanford must rework their whole game plan and make figure out the quarterback situation. Their defense also needs to figure out how to stop the run game, allowing 200 rushing yards is not good. They need to be able to rush the ball on offense and stop the rush on defense. USC is not Kansas State, and they need to be better and get better.

USC is going to dominate this game and Stanford will have no answer for it. They will have a great all-around game and London will continue right where he left off and so will Solvis. Stanford will not be able to make this a close game and will end up getting destroyed.

My prediction: USC wins 45 to 10
