This week was interesting in college football. There is a new number one in the Heisman rankings this week as there were a lot of guys who stepped up this week. There were a lot of big games this week and a lot of guys proved they belonged in the Heisman discussion and some didn’t. Here are my rankings for week three.
1. Matt Corral – Week Three Heisman Rankings
As I said in the introduction, there is a new number one this week. Matt Corral shined this week. Against Tulane this week he has a Quarterback rating of 196.9 as he threw for 335 yards and he had 7 total touchdowns. He also had a completion percentage of 74.2, which to me was incredible it doesn’t matter who you are playing. Likewise, I know he still has a tough SEC schedule ahead of him as he still has to play Alabama, Texas A&M, and Arkansas.
2. Bryce Young – Week Three Heisman Rankings
Number two on my list was the guy who topped my list last week. Bryce Young as he faced a tough Florida defense this week, didn’t play badly but didn’t do anything fancy either. As he started off by throwing 3 touchdowns in his first three drives. But Todd Grantham really made some great adjustments in the second half as he brought some great pressure and made Young uncomfortable. At the end of the day Young got the win in the Swamp and didn’t turn the ball over, so I would say it wasn’t a bad week for him.
3. Spencer Rattler
The guy who started number one when the Heisman rankings came out in week one. Spencer Rattler has not really shown he is all up to the hype yet as even though he didn’t turn the ball over this week he still to me didn’t live up to the expectations. But his expectations before the season were crazy. Don’t be surprised if he climbs the Heisman ranks this season.
