Army Vs Wake Forest Preview

Army Wake Forest

We’ve got a potently sneaky good game coming up Army vs Wake Forest. Army is coming off their first two losses of the year. Wake Forest is surprising everyone at 6-0. Let’s break it all down.

What To Expect – Army

The triple option doesn’t always fill the seats, but the Black Knights get the job done with it. Army seems to be giving everyone an opportunity to add to the offense. Quarterback Christian Anderson has run the ball effectively. Below are some notable rushing performances by him:

22 carries, 126 yards vs Western Kentucky

15 carries, 244 yards, 2 TDs vs Miami (Ohio)

Tyrell Robinson, Tyhier Tyler, and Jakobi Buchanan have also had opportunities to run the ball a lot. Andre Carter has 8.5 sacks up to this point, so he will be a point of emphasis for the Demon Deacons to stop. They were tackling machines in all of their games with huge totals coming against UCONN and Wisconsin. It’s hard to key in on who to stop because all of the cadets are flying around at all times. Army will need that same defensive effort against the top team in the ACC.

What To Expect – Wake Forest

Wake Forest has been an absolute shocker coming in as the 16th ranked team in the country. They stand atop the ACC Atlantic and the conference as a whole. Sam Hartman has 12/3 touchdown to interception ratio and has played very well. His higest yardage total was against Virgina when he had 407 yards in the air while going 33/59. Christian Beal-Smith, Christian Turner, and Justice Elision have been the primary ball carriers while Hartman can run it as well. Watch out for receivers AT Perry and Jaquarii Roberson. They have had very good performances and both lit up Syracuse. Perry had three catches for 137 and a hat trick while Roberson had nine catches for 135 yards. Like Army, on defense there are a lot of contributors and you never know who will make the big play.

I think this game is going to be a thriller that nobody will see coming. Don’t forget Army gave Michigan a run for their money a while back. It very well could happen again. I have Army pulling off the upset 30-27 with a last second touchdown pass making the difference.
