Russell Wilson Set To Return To Lineup

Rejoice Seahawks fans! DangeRuss is back and ready to cook. QB Russell Wilson has been cleared to play by Dr. Stephen Shin, the doctor who performed Wilson’s surgery following his gruesome finger injury, per Adam Schefter. After his injury on TNF against the Los Angeles Rams, Wilson missed 3 full games. The Seahawks went 1-2 in the three games started by backup Geno Smith before heading into the bye week last week in Wilson’s absence.

Wilson has planned on a week 10 comeback since his surgery. He will return to face the Green Bay Packers, who may have Aaron Rodgers back, but Rodgers will be without any preparation with his team (COVID-19). The Seahawks will travel to Green Bay for this one.

This return comes at a perfect times for this Seahawks team. Seattle is only a game out of the seventh playoff seed despite Wilson missing time. Seattle may only need 10 wins to secure a playoff spot. This means they will likely need to split wins with the Cardinals or get a win at the Rams. But as we all know, anything is possible with Mr. Unlimited behind center.

When asked about his QBs recovery, Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said, “This is a remarkable story of recovery, and really of a guy setting the intent that he was going to do this and pull off, and he’s way, way ahead of schedule,” per John Boyle of Seahawks.com. It’s no surprise that Carroll is happy to see his QB1 back in the lineup. Since Russell’s departure, the Hawks have only managed to score more than 20 points against the Jaguars. Also, star WR DK Metcalf has not surpassed 100 yards in a game.

Now that Russ is back, it is time for the Seahawks to come to life and take their spot in the playoffs. From there, once you are in the tournament, anything can happen. It is officially time to Let Russ Cook.
