FP2 at Qatar GP: Bottas goes quickest

Valtteri Bottas went quickest in FP2 at the Losail International Circuit. Pierre Gasly was again at P2 with his AlphaTauri, this time only behind by 0.2 secs. Wrapping up the Friday session behind him was the Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Star of the last weekend, Lewis Hamilton was at P4 followed by fellow Briton, Lando Norris. Lando’s team mate at McLaren – Daniel Ricciardo found himself at P14.

Lance Stroll, who missed some part of FP1, was back in the last Friday session. He stood at P6 with his team mate, Sebastian Vettel at P9.

The Ferrari drivers could not replicate their first practice session run again as Sainz was at P10. Behind the Alpine due was Charles Leclerc at P13.

Leclerc like some other drivers went out of the track, which threw a lot of sand in the air. Furthermore unlike the first session, this time track limits were observed resulting into deletion of lap times.

Nikita Mazepin was the only driver to not take part in FP2. His Haas suffered damage in FP1 and required a chassis change. On the other hand, Sergio Perez came into the pits asking for a visor change.

Antonio Giovinazzi, who will lose his Alfa Romeo seat to Guanyu Zhou in 2022, ran wide around three times. Of which the last one ended up damaging his floor.

Just one more practice session tomorrow and then off to qualifying we go!
