What We Know
On Monday, Mark Konkol was informed that Matt Nagy he will be fired after the Bear’s Thanksgiving game. The Bears have never fired a coach during a season in their 101-year history and have not confirmed or denied Konkol’s claim.
Chicago fans vehemently dislike Nagy, and the pressure has been mounting in Chicago to let the coach go. During Mondays NBA game of the Bulls vs. Pacers fans were chanting “fire Nagy”. In fact, this disdain for the 43-year-old coach from New Jersey has even infiltrated his personal life as the same “fire Nagy” chants were heard during his son’s high school football game over the weekend.
The city of Chicago has a clear message for Matt Nagy, and according to Mark Konkol it was heard by the Bears loud and clear. The Chicago Bears have not confirmed this news as of today. We will have to wait and see what happens after Thursday’s game against the Lions. Matt Nagy himself said the claims are “not accurate” and he has a close relationship with the owners. Nagy says there has been no discussion of him leaving the Bears.
