Vikings Waive Bashaud Breeland

In a surprise move, the Vikings have waived cornerback Bashaud Breeland. Breeland was listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Bears. Breeland’s questionable status was due to a personal matter. Just hours after the injury report, the Vikings announced that they waived Breeland.

Breeland has responded on twitter.

Signed in the 2021 offseason, Bashaud Breeland started every game for the Vikings this season. Breeland has struggled in pass coverage this season, often catching the ire of Minnesota fans. This led to Breeland tweeting some questionable things about Vikings’ fans.

Breeland was waived due to an altercation at practice on Saturday. The altercation began in a defensive meeting, where Breeland was watching a play from a previous game. After this, Breeland was pulled from the starting lineup during practice. Breeland then returned to the locker room to remove his cleats. He then returned to the field, where a verbal argument began. The argument Involved multiple coaches and players. The argument continued, until general manger Rick Spielman stepped In. Breeland reportedly ended up in Spielman’s office to discuss the incident. The incident ended with the Vikings deciding to waive Breeland.

For now, Breeland will go onto the waiver wire. Breeland will become a free agent if he passes the waiver wire.
