The Brooklyn Nets (25-13) defeated the San Antonio Spurs (15-24) in overtime 121-119 in a Barclays Center thriller!

After coming off a tough loss to the Milwaukee Bucks’, the Brooklyn Nets rebounded with a win as guard Cam Thomas hit the game winner. He ended the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and made the most important shot of his NBA career.

Check it out below:

The Spurs’ had an opportunity to win the game but James Harden contested Lonnie Walker’s shot as time ran out.

Betting on the Nets?

The Nets’ were favored by FanDuel Sportsbook to win the game by a spread of 10 points but if you took the Spurs to stay within 10 points, time to cash in that ticket!

Spread: SAS: +10 | BKN: -10

Betting on the Nets’ is something I won’t do with the lack of reliability of the Nets’ roster.

As I have covered before, Kyrie Irving is still unable to play in home games at Barclays Center. The Nets’ have also struggled at home and they entered this game with a 5-game losing streak.

Other than the Kyrie storyline which will continue to play out this season, LaMarcus Aldridge and Joe Harris are also out. Aldridge and Harris contribute to the depth which Brooklyn boasted on paper in the beginning of the season. Unfortunately with COVID and the yearly injury bug, the Nets’ are relying on Durant, Harden, a cast of savvy veterans and young players to make a run at a championship.

Durant and Harden combined for 54 points, 18 assists, and 11 rebounds. This was a better performance by the dynamic duo but what I thought would be an opportunity to rest players as a cross country trip to Portland nears, the Spurs’ proved to be a challenge.

The Spurs’ tied the game in the 4th quarter 113-113 as they went on a 10-0 run. Fortunately for the Nets’, they were able to do just enough to collect win number 25 in overtime.

Upcoming Schedule for Nets’ from 1/10/2022 to 1/17/2022
