The Bulls’ biggest win streak in the last eight seasons ends at nine games tonight with a loss against the Mavericks, 113-99. Dallas gets their sixth straight win and has seven out of their last ten games. Chicago scores under 100 points for the first time since their last loss on December 11th, when they scored 92 points against the Miami Heat.

Chicago shot 43.3% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point line. DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine each had 20 points. Vucevic struggled to score but scored 13 points and six rebounds. Coby White scored 13 points off the bench but couldn’t get them in the game.

Josh Green finished with career-high 18 points off the bench and got six rebounds. Superstar Luka Doncic had another triple-double of 22 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists. All Mavericks starters scored in double-digits, and now they continue to stay hot as they shot 50% from the field. Dallas shot 44.4% from the three-point line

Bulls Get Early Lead

After the Mavericks started the game with a 10-2 run, Chicago finished the first quarter with a 30-12 run to take a 10 point lead at the end of the first quarter, 32-22. Everybody contributed to the big run, including LaVine with 9 points and DeRozan with 6 points.

Final Thoughts

No answers for the pick-and-roll

The biggest weakness for the Bulls is clearly the pick-and-roll defense with Vucevic in the game. Dallas in the second half had the same play with a pick-and-roll near, and the Bulls had no answers. Whenever there was more help in the paint, that led to more three-pointers by the Mavericks that ended the Bulls’ chances of winning this game, this is a learning lesson for the Bulls, and they will try to get back on track on Tuesday against Detroit.

Dallas stays hot

The Mavericks are 5-0 in 2022 and are playing great. But Dallas will now have to stay hot on the road for the next two games. Jalen Green looked great off the bench, and many Mavericks can’t wait until the team is at full strength.
