A Look Back At 2021

Now that we’re in 2022, let’s start the year off by taking a look back at some of the worst NHL players +/-.

Number 25. Cam Atkinson

Right-winger Cam Atkinson, who was with the Columbus Blue Jackets, is now in Philadelphia with the Flyers. In 2021 Atkinson played 56 games, with 15 goals and 19 assists, he had 34 points. Which led Atkinson to a -16 while his time on ice averaged 18:56.

Number 24. Brady Tkachuk

Ottawa Senators left-winger and Captain Braeden “Brady” Tkachuk played 56 games and ended 2021 with 17 goals and 19 assists to 36 points. Tkachuk had a -17, with his time on the ice being 18:14.

Number 23. Drake Batherson

Senators right-winger Drake Batherson played on ice for 16:28 with 56 games. Like Tkachuk, Batherson had a -17, along with 17 goals. But he had 17 assists which led him to 34 points.

Number 22. Blake Wheeler (15 goals, 31 assists, 46 points)

Number 21. Jakob Silfverberg (eight goals, eight assists, 16 points)

Number 20. Phil Kessel (20 goals, 23 assists, 43 points)

Number 19. Oliver Ekman-Larsson (three goals, 21 assists, 24 points)

Number 18. Tim Stutzle

Senators center, Tim Stutzle, played 53 games total with a time on ice of 15:44. Stutzle scored 12 goals and 17 assists, leading to 29 points and a -18.

Number 17. Adrian Kempe

L.A. King’s forward Adrian Kempe ended with a -18 also. Kempe played 56 games and his time on ice averaged 16:56. With 14 goals and 15 assists leading to 29 points, is why he’s ranked at a -18.

Number 16. Filip Hronek (two goals, 24 assists, 26 points)

Number 15. Dylan Gambrell (five goals, seven assists, 12 points)

Number 14. Rasmus Ristolainen (four goals, 14 assists, 18 points)

Number 13. Erik Karlsson (eight goals, 14 assists, 22 points)

Number 12. Seth Jones (five goals, 23 assists, 28 points)

Number 11. Max Domi (nine goals, 15 assists, 24 points)

Number 10. Colin Miller

Buffalo Sabres defensemen, Colin Miller, played 48 games in total and averaged a time on ice of 18:00. Miller scored four goals and had eight assists leading to 12 points and a -20.

Number 9. Travis Sanheim

Flyers defensemen Sanheim played 55 games with his time on ice of 21:53. Scoring three goals and 12 assists to lead to 15 points, he sits at the bottom with a -22.

Number 7. Quinn Hughes -24 (three goals, 38 assists, 41 points)

Number 6. David Savard -27 (one goal, five assists, six points)

Number 5. Sam Reinhart -28 (25 goals, 15 assists, 40 points)

Number 4. Patrik Laine -28 (12 goals, 12 assists, 24 points)

Number 3. Nolan Patrick -30 (four goals, five assists, nine points)

Number 2. Eric Staal -30 (five goals, eight assists, 13 points)

The Number One Worst NHL Player With a +/-

Sabres defensemen, Rasmus Dahlin, played 56 games total and averaged his time on ice of 21:36. Dahlin scored five goals and made 18 assists leading to 23 points and a -36.
